-- Estimate: 250,00 € --
[501]

(1892-1969) Original signature of the Brazilian football legend Arthur Friedenreich on the cover and on the endpaper of the book "60 Anos de Futebol no Brasil 1894-1954". Arthus Friedenreich "is considered one of the best footballers of all time" (Wiki). According to FIFA[13], Friedenreich scored 1,329 goals during his career (49 more than Pelé). He is therefore considered the player who has scored the most goals in his career; He was also the first to exceed the 1,000 mark. He played 13 times for Brazil (1914-1930; until 1925 he was Brazil's most capped player). Friedenreich is considered the discoverer of the spin shot in football and therefore also the inventor of the banana cross. He is said to have been the first to consciously use this technique to give the ball a spin that influenced its trajectory. During a European tour in 1925 he was hailed by the press as the "King of the Kings of Football". --Autographs from Arthur Friedenreich are hard to find! --The book is a rare association chronicle from the "FPF" (Sao Paulo Football Association) on the history of football in Brazil. --Inside with paper worm holes Condition: C
